I am currently accepting Flute and Piano students into my studio! Please contact me directly to set up a free trial lesson. I believe the two-way respect and commitment that musical learning requires should also include personal connection, so this first meeting allows us to get to know one another from a learning perspective, as well as discuss goals, education styles, and realistic practice habits.

What to Expect

  • Weekly lessons are most effective, I will consider twice monthly on a case by case basis. Adult students may be granted more flexibility here due to different scheduling needs, but for younger students consistency is crucial. I teach lessons at the 15 minute, 30 minute, 45 minute, and 60 minute increment as needed based on age and level.

  • Personalized and detailed lessons and lesson plans based on 1) what I observe you to need to further your skills 2) what I think you will enjoy that overlaps with skill needs 3) what you have expressed an interest in.

  • Depending on level and needs, most students will have a combination of: breathing exercises, scales, tone exercises, studies, repertoire, duets, and fun pieces employed in lessons and in practice throughout the week. Each of these parts is an essential one in the whole of flute playing and music making.

  • Practice: I will expect you to practice! It is my role to ensure that you have the tools and guidance to feel confident and comfortable as you work, it is your role to put in some time away from the lesson to ensure you are consistently and effectively honing your skills. Frequency is better than duration, so lots of times throughout the week is better than a big chunk right before your lesson. We will make a practice plan together based on your needs, and I will help you with strategies!

  • Group playing/performance opportunities (on hold during Covid19 but TBD dates for future recitals)

Payment

  • Lessons are to be paid for per week at the time of the lesson, or per month at the beginning of the month.

  • I accept cash, check, Paypal, Venmo, and Zelle.

  • ***PLEASE NOTE: 24 hours notice prior to cancelling a lesson is required with the exception of extreme circumstances. If you cancel within 24 hours you will be charged for that lesson. If you get in touch before 24 hours we can reschedule, and you will not be charged for the original time.

  • Current rate: $15/15 minutes, $30/30 minutes, $45/45 minutes, $60/60 minutes
